The Vanderpool family has been serving the excavation and underground utility needs of central and south central Iowa for over 50 years.  Mike Vanderpool, owner and president, has been doing excavation work for over 45 years.  Mike started his career under the watchful eye of his father Cliff who started his business in 1955.  In 1971 Mike started his own business which is what we now know as Vanderpool Construction Inc.  And just as Mike learned the ropes from his father, Mike’s son Toby has taken on a leadership role in the business operations today. 

Through the years the business has grown from a small operation based out of his home, with Mike doing the digging and his wife, Marylee doing the books; to what it is today, a multi faceted excavation company with over 35 skilled employees and a reputation for doing quality work at a reasonable price.  From a single backhoe in 1971 to a seemingly endless line of equipment today, Vanderpool Construction has the tools and knowledge to do the work right the first time.  Our long list of repeat customers is a testament to our core belief in doing things right the first time.
